The Xiaomi 15 should be getting official in just a few days, following Qualcomm’s unveiling of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that will be powering it. Speaking of which, the Elite seems to suit the Xiaomi 15 very nicely, at least if we go by the Geekbench run performed by what is most likely a Xiaomi 15 prototype.
This was spotted today in the Geekbench 6.3.0 online database, and as you can see from the screenshot below, it managed an impressive single-core score of 3,180 and a multi-core score of 10,058.
The prototype in question has 16GB of RAM. It’s unclear if this will be the only option or if others will be offered as well upon the phone’s launch. Perhaps surprisingly, the prototype is running Android 15, a version that Google only released to its Pixel devices last week. This doesn’t necessarily mean the finalized Xiaomi 15 will run Android 15 from day one, but it would be fitting, wouldn’t it? Let’s not give up hope just yet.
The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are launching first, at the same time, later this month. The Ultra will follow at another point. Note that the 15 and 15 Pro will initially only be sold in China. The 15 should get a global release in the future, if we go by what happened last year.
