Something big may be happening in the flagship Galaxy S line, but not next year. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are all coming in January, as usual. But in 2026, the Korean company could bring a major change to its lineup, by giving up on the Galaxy S26.
Samsung has already done something similar to its flagship tablet line. This year, only the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra were launched, with the ‘vanilla’ model going missing. And now a new rumor claims the same could happen to the Galaxy S26 series in 2026.

Thus, only the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra will arrive (presumably in January 2026). The move will supposedly happen because the base model will no longer be competitive in the market.
Chinese brands are preparing an onslaught of smaller devices with top of the line specs for the next few months, and the Galaxy S25 may barely survive that, but it could be game over for the S26. That is, of course, if this pans out. The source of this rumor, Ice Universe, has a decent track record but is known to exaggerate sometimes, and this may very well be one of those times, so keep that in mind.
